  • [ ] In Documents → Make a folder called 100devs. This will be where you store all your class materials that you download for each class. Optional: this is also where you can store a journal

  • [ ] Download VisualStudioCode (Code editor)
    • [ ] Extensions you may want:
      • [ ] VsCode Pets (looks cute but can slow down your computer if you have low RAM storage)
      • [ ] Prettier (will format your code for you)
  • [ ] Github broken down into very simple steps. However, this will be explained in heavy detail later on throughout the program.
    • [ ] Open your Terminal
      • [ ] Command Space to search, type terminal and click enter
    • [ ] ls (will display all your folders, you should see Documents folder)
    • [ ] cd Documents/100devs (will navigate to the 100devs folder)
    • [ ] code . (will automatically open VSCode of 100devs folder)
    • [ ] Any changes you make while doing hw/updating your journal, you will want to push them to Github to obtain the green square daily. Here are the steps you will take in the terminal:
      • [ ] git commit -m “Update journal.md”
      • [ ] git push origin main
  • [ ] Remember, the more you do this, the easier it gets. Coding is just about repetition!
